An Introduction to Sports Law Biz Podcasts

Hopefully by now you’ve had a chance to listen to “Episode Zero” of the Sports Law Biz Podcast, which I released last week. That episode is only seven and a half minutes long and it provides an overview of my vision for the podcast. I have been recording a series of podcast episodes about the law and business of sports and been saving them up before I begin releasing them. Now I have enough of them stored up to begin releasing them and my plan is to release them every other week, on Monday mornings (starting next Monday, September 7th).

Here are several different ways to access the podcast episodes:

  1. You can find them on this blog, where I’ll post every time I upload a new episode.
  2. You can subscribe to the podcast on iTunes. This means that you will automatically download episodes to your computer or mobile devices when they are available. To subscribe to the podcast on iTunes, you can either follow this link, or you can go to the iTunes Store and search for the “Sports Law Biz Podcast.”
  3. If you’d prefer, you can download the Stitcher app, which is an alternative podcast app for smartphones and tablets. You can subscribe to the podcast either by following this link, or you can search Stitcher for the “Sports Law Biz Podcast.”
  4. You can subscribe to follow the podcast channelĀ on Youtube. You’ll be notified when new podcast episodes are uploaded.
  5. Finally, you can subscribe to follow the podcast on Soundcloud.

Again, any of these methods of following the podcast will work and you’re free to choose whichever is most convenient for you. Personally, I find iTunes to be super convenient, as the episodes are automatically downloaded. Whichever method you choose, please provide a rating and a review of the podcast, as this is important for helping other people to notice the podcast. This is particularly important for iTunes and Stitcher which have algorithms that increase the visibility of a podcast based on positive ratings and reviews. It’s really easy to leave a rating and review and it helps the podcast a lot.

So go ahead and subscribe and stay tuned for the first official episode of the podcast, which will come out next Monday. I’ll be discussing MLB’s antitrust exemption with Professor Gordon Hylton of UVA Law. And as always, let me know if there is any topic you want to hear about or any person in the sports world that you want to hear from.
